London Launch Party!

The Branchage Jersey International Film Festival officially kicked off with the London Launch Party which was held on August 4th at the Curzon Cinemas in Soho. Not only was the Progamme made public, but trailers directed by Michael Pearce and Brian Liu, which were made for the Branchage festival, were screened for the partygoers.

Following the trailers was a special showing from the Jersey Archives, 'Jersey: Your Holiday Island' (1958), which was narrated by Kenneth More. After the vintage video, the audience was treated to Jersey's very own Velofax (Maven Records) who played along to the opening credits of the classic Jersey-based television program, 'Bergerac.'

The launch was topped off with a drinks reception at the bar where Branchage's own programmer, Philip Ilson played tunes for the crowd while they drank beer and looked over the brand new Branchage brochures showing them what they had to look forward to come the festival at the end of September.
